In 1956, after more than 25 years of manufacturing mattresses for other brand names, Enoch Schrader began building mattresses and box springs under his own name.

Even from those humble beginnings Enoch Schrader chose not to mass-produce bedding as his competitors did. He knew everyone does not sleep alike, and should have the option of a sleep system tailored to individual needs, shape and size – at no added cost! He passed on those values to his son Blair, who after 53 years in the business, passed the day-to-day operations to his own grandson, Austin.

Every mattress and box spring that E J Schrader manufactures carries with it a true seal of approval. All materials inside and out are of the highest quality available, and tests show Schrader™ mattress sets hold their firmness and responsive resilience longer than those mass-produced by the larger mattress brand groups.

While Schrader has made many technological advancements, we have not changed the way bedding is made—one at a time, with precision and care. Many of our employees who sew and assemble our bedding have been with us for many years. Their experience and skill have helped us become one of the best independent bedding manufacturers around.

Each mattress from E J Schrader is hand-sewn by real people who work to the specifications of your particular order. Because we manufacture what we sell, each and every mattress and box spring is designed, created, and inspected by us. We simply won’t deliver anything to you that isn’t absolutely perfect.
